Channel ferry fares slashed
A price war broke out among ferry companies this week as the cost of sailing across the Channel plummeted to its lowest level in years.
The cost of taking a car to France fell as low as £7.50 as one firm slashed its fares by 50%.
SpeedFerries, which sails between Dover and Boulogne, is an aggressive new competitor that is giving the established companies a run for their money.
Its highest fare is £19 one-way, which applies to any duration, while its lowest fare is £7.50 for a 24-hour ticket. All its prices are for a car and up to six passengers. ...news
