when i was 15 my friend (a catholic) said there was a spare seat on the bus to bellahouston park, glasgow, so i went along. the pope was visiting scotland and i was among the 300,000 who were there. as a non catholic i did not understand the mass, but it was a beautiful sunny day, and we had a great time. one of the times you don't forget - like the time i met the queen mother in 1985 :-) age 18 (me - not the queen mum !! )
