Britain's hidden army of young carers
As many as 50,000 children across Britain are currently at home caring for their loved ones.A report by the charity Barnardo's, at the start of National Carers Week, has said more than one quarter of them are skipping school to look after parents and siblings.
The majority of these children are providing 24-hour care for parents with mental health problems. And for many it is a full time job kept secret for fear of their family being torn apart.
