Our fourth place at the Nurburgring was a great result for me and Red Bull Racing. I knew there was a high risk of an incident at the first corner so I told Jenson Button, who was on the grid with me, I was going to stick to the inside line and brake early. That meant I saw all hell break loose up ahead and steered clear. After I came through the crash I counted the number of cars in front of me - and there were only three.
Result! I said to myself. I should, however, have had a podium place but picked up a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pit lane - 81.2kmh in an 80 limit. They give you a 1kmh margin, so I was penalised for 0.2 kmh.
The Nurburgring result and overall performance of the Red Bull team has made me feel like I did when I started racing - I get such a kick from it.

My car was wrecked in practice for the Monaco Grand Prix after mad Montoya drove in front of me and braked so sharply and suddenly, Jacques Villeneuve had no time to think and ploughed his Sauber into me with such force the impact was recorded at a bone-crunching 8G.
It was all down to Montoya. It was on the fastest part of the track and he was driving his McLaren ONE HUNDRED kilometres an hour slower than he had done on the previous lap going on to Casino Square. ...more
